1. What was your feeling after winning the crown?
Obviously I was very happy to get the crown. I can’t explain the feeling of that night, too nervous and I was holding my tears as it was dream come true in Australia. In past I also took part in Miss Nepal but I had to come to Australia leaving that competition. So it was a dream come true when I actually got chosen for the crown.
2. What did you achieve by winning the crown?
If you think in terms of financial benefits I would say I was supported by the organizers for few programs so I had a free trip to Nepal. As this was first contest for Nepalese in Australia so representing Victoria and getting the crown will be a bigger achievement than other stuffs. When I went to Nepal for charity programs people recognized me and that is a big thing for me.
3. Are you planning to have a career in modeling after wining this pageant?
I would say no, reason being I came to Australia to study and my main objective is to finish it and don’t have a long term plan at the moment. To tell you the truth over here to establish yourself in modeling I should focus on lot of different things.
4. In that case taking part in the beauty pageant just like one hit wonder… isn’t it?
Miss Nepal AustraliaAs all of the Nepalese student have others things like studies and work. This is not my country and I have to be independent also. So I took part in it to represent Nepalese in Victoria it was just a competition. For me winning does not matter the big achievement is being part of the event. Luckily I won it also.
5. What did you do when you went to Nepal?
I went to Nepal as a post pageant activity which was planned by organizers. As planned, we had few programs especially for old and youth people. We are planning to open age care facilities for old, disabled and homeless as well as youth awareness programs. I attended these programs which are in infant stages. This is also the main focus of organizers to help people in our country. Obviously it was nice to catch up with the family.
6. What kind of changes you perceive in Nepal?
Miss Nepal AustraliaI discovered our country is going backwards especially with load shedding, petrol crisis, strikes and so on. As now we are a republic country it seems that we don’t have any cialis no prescription rules and system in our country. Our infrastructure has not been rebuilt or maintained after the war seems like the sacrifice that our martyrs gave for a democratic Nepal has all gone in vain.
7. Have you fallen in love with someone if not then what kind of partner are you looking for?
Hahaha….. I knew this question would come I can’t actually say that was a love or a crush but I had friends who were very close. I am single now. Don’t mind how the person is, but should be cooperative, educated, understanding, as well as well established. I know it’s hard to find a person with all of these characteristics.
8. Did your parents support you back home when you decided to go into modeling?
It was hard for me to start in this field as our parents obviously oppose when we decide to become a model. This is because of the socio-cultural barrier and perception of Nepalese society. As my parents are also part of the society they also tried to hold me back but I was able to convince them. Trust me it was hard but they were happy with my studies as I was managing them equally well.
9. Have you ever had any bad incidents in this field?
Never had any thing back home but in Australia had one incident which was horrible. I managed to get myself out of that situation as I quit that job. There is always good and bad side but to make a good decision and choose the right side depends upon the person.
10. What’s your message for young girls who want to participate in for the contest in future?
This is a competition and taking part in it and gaining real life experience is a big plus points that will help us in a country like Australia. All the grooming programs really help us to gain skills which we lack and sharpen skills which we have. So being part of it is a great experience and to all the future participants come forward and enjoy the challenge we all are winners.
11. Will you be staying in Australia or want to go back to Nepal?
I am a person who likes to go with the flow of life. I came to Australia and I have learnt a lot which I probably won’t have in Nepal. I don’t have a long term plan also. So I will see how I go and wherever I go I will try to share love among Nepalese people
